Admission Criteria
The admission criteria for subsidised cases (defined as from low-income families and those receiving public assistance) must meet the Ministry of Health’s criteria and means test.
The applicant will be assessed for suitability for nursing home care based on the following:
- Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Household income per capita of $2,600 or less
- Applicant’s residential status and savings
- Any sick person, especially the elderly sick, who is wheelchair or bed-bound.
- Applicant’s level of care must fall within category 3 and 4 of the Ministry’s Resident Assessment Form, and require a high dependency level of nursing care
- Applicant has no close relative(s) or caregiver(s) to support or care for him/her
- Applicant must not have suicidal or violent tendencies
Lions Home is allowed to accommodate up to 10% of non-subsidised cases, i.e. applicants who do not meet the Ministry of Health’s criteria for qualifying for subsidies.
The criteria for admission for non-subsidised cases are as follows:
- Must be a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
- Applicant has medical condition(s) requiring nursing care
- Applicant with psychological and psychiatric illnesses must not have suicidal or violent tendencies
